The Rapture – The Great Catching Away
By Pastor Victor Archie
Although the word Rapture is not mentioned in scripture we can find the phrase “Caught up” or catching away of all believers in the New Testament. There is tons of debate about this word and its true meaning, but if we look up the meaning of the word “Rapture” this is the definition:
-
A feeling of intense pleasure or joy. (Synonyms include: ecstasy, bliss, euphoria, exaltation, joy, transport, enchantment, etc…)
-
The transporting of believers to heaven at the Second Coming of Christ
-
From earth to heaven at the Second coming of Christ
We see that the word Rapture and the saints being caught up shares the same meaning. So… why all the fuss about the word and it being truthful or not? I believe the questions may lie-in with the removal of all the believers and when will it happen?

There are the following theories on the Rapture:
-
The removal of the believers will happen before the Great Tribulation
-
The removal of the Church will take place Mid-Tribulation
-
A Post Tribulation removal of believers
-
And some believe that the catching away of the church has already taken place
This lesson is designed to bring out what the scriptures say about the Rapture and determine what is the truth regarding these Rapture Theories.
Let’s first visit
Matthew 24:3-5, 36-46:
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Yeshua answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
This portion of scriptures tell us that in the days before the coming of the Messiah we will have a number of fake Messiah's with all intent to deceive the children of Yah (Yahawah). Fake teachings are already upon us and it's going to continue until He returns. All of these preachers, not teaching the true words of Yah are fulfilling these scriptures.
Matthew 36-46 reads,
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
We see in Matthew that Yeshua/Yahawashi told the disciples that no one knows the day or hour, only the Father. He also made it clear, that not like the stories told of believers being taken away to heaven. But, it does tell us that in the days of Noah so shall it be when He returns to this world. In Noah’s times during the flood all that was taken were destroyed! None were saved outside of the Ark. So when the scriptures say in Matthew 40-42 the one(s) taken will not be saved but destroyed, I know this contradicts what most have been taught, but let’s go deeper in the scriptures to find any precepts that may confirm this.
We will have to go beyond your present bible to the original King James bible. This book was publish in the year 1611 (you can also download a free copy of this manuscript on your phone or tablet).
Let’s visit 2 Esdras 13:16-26
16 For as I conceiue (conceive) in mine vnderstanding (understanding), woe vnto (unto) them that shall be left in those dayes; and much more woe vnto (unto) them that are not left behinde. 17 For they that were not left, were in heauinesse (heaviness). 18 Now vnderstand (understand) I the things that are layde vp (laid up) in the latter dayes, which shall happen vnto (unto) them, and to those that are left behinde. 19 Therefore are they come into great perils, and many necessities, like as these dreames declare. 20 Yet is it easier for him that is in danger, to come into these things, then to passe away as a cloud out of the world, and not to see the things that happen in the last dayes. And he answered vnto (unto) me, and said, 21 The interpretation of the vision shal I shew thee, and I wil open vnto (unto) thee, the thing that thou hast required. 22 Wheras thou hast spoken of them that are left behinde, this is the interpretation. 23 He that shall endure the perill in that time, hath kept himselfe: they that be fallen into danger, are such as haue workes, and faith towards the Almightie. 24 Know this therefore, that they which be left behinde, are more blessed then they that be dead. 25 This is the meaning of the vision: Whereas thou sawest a man comming vp (up) from the middest of the Sea: 26 The same is hee whom God the highest hath kept a great season, which by his owne selfe shall deliuer (deliver) his creature: and hee shall order them that are left behinde.
Let’s continue reading in 2 Esdras 16:22-28 it gets better…
22 For many of them that dwell vpon (upon) earth, shall perish of famine, and the other that escape the hunger, shall the sword destroy. 23 And the dead shall be cast out as doung, and there shalbe no man to comfort them, for the earth shall be wasted, and the cities shall be cast downe. 24 There shall be no man left to till the earth, and to sow it.
25 The trees shall giue (give) fruite, and who shall gather them? 26 The grapes shall ripe, and who shall treade them? for all places shall be desolate of men. 27 So that one man shall desire to see another, and to heare his voyce. 28 For of a citie there shalbe ten left, and two of the field which shall hide themselues in the thicke groues, and in the clefts of rockes.
Wow! Now we have a clear understanding of the meaning taken away and being saved! It’s clear that this is not the Rapture, but a point in time that Yahawashi removes all sinful people from this earth. This will be a rough time for all believers left, as we will need to have survival skills to make it. Removing these scriptures allowed for the false teaching of a pre/mid and “All Ready Happened” Raptured theory. Leaving only the Post Tribulation Theory. You could say it’s a tribulation after the tribulation!
Saints we need to get ready, be prepared for what’s to come. Don’t allow your lamps to not have enough oil! The time is coming that we should all have a readiness about ourselves and to be about a life outside the convenience of the city living, as our only means to survive. I understand that some of you are thinking what about 1 Thessalonians, where Yahawashi will rise the dead in Christ and the living believers will be caught up to meet him in the air?
Well let’s read it…
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Yeshua died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Yeshua will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Paul is explaining to the believers not to worry about love ones in the faith that have passed on. We will all be brought and gather together, at the last trumpet to be with the Lord. So we have two different events that will be taking place. A removal of the sinner and a later catching away of the believers (the real Rapture).
Psalms 91:2-10
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wastethat noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
These scriptures in Psalms will be our prayer when facing these times…
John 17:14-17
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
People of Yah, we need to get back to the truth! Obey the commandments of Yahawah! Because it’s the true path of redemption. Yahawashi's death was to free us from sin, not to remove Yah’s commandments. We are to keep ALL of his commandments and not believe on another gospel. The priest laws were removed as they came from men, but how can you love Yah with all your heart, soul and mind and not keep what He said keep. The law was used ungodly or sinfully by the Pharises and the Messiah removed the schoolmaster of the law, placing it in our hearts to obey.
Let’s read 1 Corinthians 15:50-55 concerning The Last Trumpet
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
We must be lovers of our brothers and sisters and givers of love unto Yah by loving Him with all that we are. If you love Him you will keep His commandments.
Matthews 13:30
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. 31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: 32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
Saints, let not your souls be apart of that first gathering of the tares… be gathered with the wheat and be with our Lord forever.
